Black Sapote Mousse

Black Sapote is often called the 'chocolate pudding fruit' due to its dark, pudding-like flesh. It lends itself perfectly to mixing with a bit of cocoa for this decadent and tropical dessert. If you're a fan of mousse, this is a must-try. The biggest challenge of this dish is trying not to eat it all in one sitting.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 ripe black sapote
  • 1 can full-fat coconut milk, refrigerated at least 24 hours
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2-4 tablespoons powdered sugar, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla or coconut extract
  • pinch of salt
  • coconut chips or shaved chocolate, optional
