Cherimoya with Chile Lime Shrimp

Chile lime is a flavor combo that never fails to amaze. Who doesn’t love zesty and spicy together?

If you have some of our ripe cherimoya and mango leftover and need a new way to prepare them, we have the perfect solution! This dish is filling and full of bright citrus flavors and warm chile spice.

We sauteed shrimp in a chile lime marinade, and it’s out of this world good! You won’t be eating shrimp the same way again once you try this recipe. Serve it up with our sweet cherimoya and mango on a bed of greens for a delicious meal.

 Cherimoya with Chile Lime Shrimp Recipe

Chile lime shrimp mixed with sweet cherimoya and mango on top of crisp butter lettuce is the dish you didn’t know you need! Serve this up for lunch or dinner in less than an hour.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup lime juice
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large clove garlic minced
  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined, tail off
  • 1 ½ cups chopped cherimoya peeled
  • 1 cup chopped mango
  • ½ a head of butter lettuce

Equipment:

  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Gallon-sized bag
  • Salad serving bowl
  • Bowl for vinaigrette
  • Whisk
  • Peeler
  • Tongs

Recipe Steps:

Prepare the marinade:

  1. Whisk together the olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, salt and garlic.
  2. Pour the marinade over the shrimp in a gallon-sized bag and push out the air before sealing.
  3. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes. 

Cook the shrimp:

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Using tongs, add the marinated shrimp and cook until pink and opaque (about 5-8 minutes). 

Prepare the salad bowl:

  1. Tear the butter lettuce into bite-sized pieces and add the cherimoya and mango to the salad bowl and top with the cooked shrimp.
  2. Pick out the seeds of the cherimoya as you eat the salad.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve this filling and nutritious dish for lunch or dinner. Pack it for lunches on-the-go or serve it for a sit-down meal.

Make sure to pour all the delicious chile lime marinade on top of the salad for added flavor! Add additional dressing if desired and serve with a lime wedge to squeeze over the shrimp for extra zesty flavor - bon appétit!
