In a few simple steps, you can whip up buttery golden mushrooms with rich garlic flavor. Serve the mushrooms garnished with fresh chives for extra garlic flavor. Let’s get cooking!

Garlic Mushrooms Recipe

Buttery, garlic mushrooms topped with chives makes for one award-winning appetizer. Serve these mushrooms up to guests and watch them disappear!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb white mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • ¼ cup chopped chives for garnish

Recipe Steps:

Prepare the mushrooms:

  1. Wash and scrub your mushrooms and set them aside.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter and olive oil.
  3. Once the butter melts, add the mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes on one side before flipping them and cooking for another five minutes on the other side or until golden brown (about 10-15 minutes).
  4. Stir in the garlic, salt and pepper and cook for another minute.
  5. Garnish with chives and serve warm.

Serving Suggestions:

Get fancy and add a splash of cream at the end of cooking for a more creamy and decadent dish. Serve the creamy mushrooms atop a toasted baguette for a rich and savory bite-sized appetizer. 

Or for a main meal, serve the garlic mushrooms as a side dish to steak or pork chops. Need another option? Slice the cooked mushrooms and add them into other meals like pasta dishes or soups.
