Glazed Pineapple Guava Bread

One of the most common uses of pineapple guava is in different types of sweet breads. The subtle tropical flavors of the pineapple guava make this a great treat to enjoy with your coffee, after your meal, or just a little pick-me-up during the day. We think you're going to love this one.

  • 1/2 cup plus 1 teaspoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 pounds fresh Pineapple guavas (2 cups flesh = 1/2 cup juice)
  • 1 (8.25-ounce) can crushed pineapple in syrup, drained
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup packed golden brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • approximately 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
