Everyone loves a sangria. The best thing about them is that no two are alike.  There are white wine sangrias, red wine sangrias, citrus sangrias and now LYCHEE SANGRIAS!  This simply, perfect sangria may rain over them all!

Pairing sweet lychees with fresh, bright citrus fruit is hands down the best sangria combo out there. You got the sweet, the zesty, the astringent - you got it all. Now all you need to do is get to the store and buy two bottles of pinot, the fruit and head to the kitchen to get choppin’! 

We highly recommend selecting a dry white wine with notes of citrus, apple and pear to go well with the fruit in this sangria. The sangria will be optimal after chilling for 2 hours in the refrigerator to help all the fruits blend together…the hardest part but 100% worth the wait for sangria time!

Lychee Sangria Recipe

Lychee sangria is the sangria you didn’t know you needed until now! Once you try lychees in your sangria, you won’t be going back to the classic sangria. We added peach schnapps for extra sweet fruitiness, but you could also substitute the lychee syrup for added flavor.


  • 2 750 ml chilled bottles of Pinot Grigio
  • ½ cup peach schnapps
  • 2 15 ounce canned lychees in heavy syrup drained (or 3 cups fresh lychees)
  • 1 sliced orange
  • 1 sliced lime
  • 1 sliced lemon
  • 1 chopped apple


  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Pitcher
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons

Recipe Steps:

Prepare the fruit:

  1. Wash and chop the orange, lime, lemon and apple.
  2. Add the chopped fruit to the pitcher along with the lychee. You can layer the fruit or mix it all together. 

Prepare the sangria

  1. Add the chilled wine and peach schnapps.
  2. Stir together and chill for 2 hours to give the fruit time to infuse.
  3. Pour after chilling and enjoy!

Serving Suggestions:

There’s nothing like sweet lychees and refreshing, crisp fruit paired in a dry white wine. Pour yourself a glass…or two and enjoy the sweet, fruity drink!

For garnish, string lychees and apple chunks on a toothpick and snack on the fruit while you sip your sangria. The toothpick makes a great fruit pick to get all those juicy fruit slices at the bottom of the glass too!
