Mexican Guava Compote Recipe

This Mexican guava compote—guava in syrup—is sure to become a hit. The creamy sweetness of the guavas pairs wonderfully with the bit of tang from the citrus. The touch of cinnamon gives it a little bit of that holiday flavor making it a great dessert topping during your holiday season or any time you're feeling in the mood for something special.

It can be eaten by itself or you can use it to top your ice cream or yogurt. It can be served warm or cold. And it's loaded with vitamin C. You can even try adding it to your smoothies.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 ¼ Pounds Mexican Guavas
  • 2 ¾ cups of water
  • 2 ½ cups of sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 Tablespoon lime or lemon juice
