Papaya Smash Cocktail

Once you try this refreshing cocktail, you'll want it all the time. The papaya transports you directly to a tropical, sandy beach while delivering flavors of coconut, pineapple and sweet, juicy papaya. This is one cocktail you won't want to miss this summer.

This is perfect for any occasion: sitting out by the pool, a barbeque with your favorite people, alongside a spicy dish or just hanging out.

Slice, scoop and add your papaya to the blender. Top with pineapple juice, coconut rum, triple sec and ice to get this delicious frozen cocktail. Blend until you get an icy smooth consistency, pour, top with an umbrella for extra tropical vibes - sip and enjoy!

Papaya Smash Recipe

Tropical flavors of pineapple, coconut and papaya whisk you away to an island getaway. Served frozen and easy to make ahead of time for parties and freeze for later.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chopped papaya
  • 3 ounces coconut rum
  • 1-ounce triple sec
  • 1-ounce pineapple juice
  • 2 cups ice

Equipment:

  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Spoon to scoop and discard papaya seeds
  • Blender
  • Shot glass or jigger
  • Glasses

Recipe Steps:

Cut and chop the papaya:

  1. Slice the papaya in half lengthwise & scoop out and discard the black seeds.
  2. Peel and chop the papaya or scoop the flesh with a spoon until you get 1 cup.

Blend the ingredients:

  1. In a blender, add the papaya, coconut rum, triple sec, pineapple juice and ice.
  2. Blend until smooth and pour into 2 glasses.

Serving Suggestions:

Get fancy and garnish with a lime wedge, pineapple slice and umbrella. Close your eyes and sip, sip picturing yourself in a tropical paradise.

The cocktail mixture freezes well too making it perfect for parties. So if you want to make a batch ahead of time, freeze it in a container and when ready to serve, run the container under warm water to help the cocktail warm up just enough so it’s icy.
