Passion Fruit Citrus Sunshine Cocktail

Take a load off and transport yourself to the California coast with this cocktail that celebrates the Santa Barbara winter citrus and passionfruit harvest. This cocktail has become a new farm favorite. The sweetness of the orange juice paired with the tanginess of the fresh passion fruit and shrub make for a refreshing tropical taste. We like to pair it with tequila or mescal, but any or no alcohol will work.


  • Juice of one orange (any of the oranges included in your box will work!)
  • Juice and pulp of one passion fruit
  • 7oz of sparkling water
  • 1-2 teaspoons of simple syrup/agave syrup (add more or less to taste)
  • 1oz of Passionfruit Sideyard Shrubs
  • 1 shot of tequila or mescal
  • 1 sprig of fresh mint
  • 6 ice cubes


Combine ingredients into a large glass with ice. Add more or less of any of the ingredients to fit your taste preferences. Stir and enjoy! Don’t forget to garnish with the sprig of fresh mint. Lightly whack the mint against the back of your hand before putting into the drink to “release” the oils!
