Smooth and sweet, this fruity and floral martini made with ripe sapodilla and a splash of elderflower liqueur is just the drink you need to enjoy at your next brunch with friends.

Sweetened with sapodilla and a touch of simple syrup for a delightfully sweet martini. You’ll get floral notes thanks to the elderflower liqueur and a hint of citrus thanks to the lemon juice. Make these exotic fruity martinis your new cocktail of choice.

Sweet sapodilla is muddled to release its juicy deliciousness. You’ll want to make sure the sapodilla is super ripe so it muddles well and releases enough juice so you can taste it!

After muddling, pour the vodka, lemon juice, elderflower liqueur and simple syrup on top. Top with ice and shake to chill. Pour into a martini glass and garnish with a lemon twist or a thin slice of sapodilla - cheers!

Sweet sapodilla, fresh lemon juice and elderflower liqueur bring floral and fruity notes to this vodka martini - refreshing and sweet sums up this drink! Serve it straight up or on the rocks at your next gathering to wow your guests.

Ingredients:

  • 1 very ripe sapodilla
  • 5 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce elderflower liqueur
  • 1 ounce lemon juice
  • ½ ounce simple syrup
  • Ice

Equipment:

  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Shot glass or jigger
  • cocktail shaker
  • Martini glass

Recipe Steps:

Make the martini:

  1. Peel and remove the seeds of the sapodilla. Chop the fruit into chunks and muddle it in a cocktail shaker to release the juice.
  2. Pour the vodka, elderflower liqueur, lemon juice and simple syrup on top. Cover with ice and shake well.
  3. Pour into a martini glass and garnish with a lemon twist or slice of sapodilla.
  4. You may need to use a strainer to get the liquid out of the cocktail shaker if the sapodilla doesn’t breakdown small enough. Use a spoon and smash the fruit to extract all the liquid.
