You’ll love the way durian combines with the flavors of coconut, mango and sweetened condensed milk in this creamy shake. Little ones will think they’re getting away with something! THE DURIAN SHAKE RECIPE

It doesn’t get simpler than this. The Durian Shake pairs fresh chunks of durian with some of its BFFs (best fruity friends) to compliment its distinctly aromatic flavor. The taste of durian is complimented best by tropical flavors like coconut and mango. The gang’s all here in this cold and creamy durian refreshment that’s a perfectly sweet summertime treat.

While this blended recipe might sound like it’s begging for a sugar-based spirit, durian is known to have a complicated relationship with alcohol making them very uncomfortable to digest together. 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup durian fruit, seeds removed 
  • ½ cup mango 
  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup coconut milk 
  • 1 cup ice

EQUIPMENT:

  • Blender
  • Measuring cup
  • Two chilled 14oz glasses

RECIPE: 

  • Add all ingredients into a high powered blender and blend until smooth. Pour the durian shake between the two chilled glasses, serve immediately and enjoy. 

For an extra smooth consistency, pour the blended durian shake through a mesh sieve before serving. If you’re lucky enough to have a caviar lime around, crack one open and sprinkle the tart and tiny bubbles of citrus over the top of the shake as a garnish to add dimension of flavor and visual delight.
