Honey and lemon make a refreshing beverage combo. Add a dash of tropical juice and you have yourself a tropical bee’s knees cocktail - the perfect way to transport your taste buds to an island getaway.
Bee’s Knees are classically made with honey syrup, fresh lemon juice and gin. We added a tropical spin on the cocktail with a splash of pineapple juice, and we think you’re going to love the zesty, sweet flavors this beverage serves up!
We made our own honey syrup by mixing equal parts of honey and warm water to get a warm golden liquid to provide the right amount of sweetness. This cocktail isn’t overly sweet to allow the lemon juice to shine too.
Serve this cocktail up with summertime meals or enjoy with friends.
Add some of our fruit for an exotic twist to this cocktail like starfruit or caviar limes for a burst of citrus flavor.
A refreshing, zesty tropical cocktail is what you can expect from our take on the classic bee’s knees. Garnish with a lemon peel and sip away!
Prepare the honey syrup:
Prepare the cocktail shaker:
To garnish with a lemon peel, remove a thick piece of the lemon with a peeler. Make a cut down the middle part way to allow it to sit on the rim of the glass. You can also add lemon zest on the drink for garnish or a wedge of lemon.
Enjoy this cocktail with tropical-inspired meals like pineapple barbeque chicken or coconut shrimp.
Swap the pineapple juice for another tropical fruit juice like mango or papaya juice for a new take on the tropical cocktail. Add some of our exotic fruit to jazz up the drink and enjoy!
Take a sip and picture yourself on an island getaway with the ocean breeze and sunshine in the air. Tropical paradise!
