Who doesn’t love guacamole made with creamy avocado, zesty lime and spicy jalapeno? It’s a classic that never gets old. But sometimes we need to jazz up the usual for something extraordinary.

This recipe does just that with chunks of ripe, sweet fruit pocketed into the creamy dip. Chopped papaya, pineapple and mango are mixed together in a traditional guacamole to give it a sweet twist. The combo of sweet, spice and zest is too good to put your chips down!

Tropical guacamole is a fun way to use our exotic fruit. Plus, who doesn’t love classic guacamole? Mix the two together and you’ll discover a new favorite way to use our fruit!

Ingredients:

  • 3 large avocados
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 seeded and minced jalapeno
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped papaya
  • ½ cup chopped mango
  • ½ cup chopped pineapple
  • ⅓ cup chopped green onion

Equipment:

  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Potato masher or fork
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Mixing bowl

Recipe Steps:

Prepare the tropical guacamole:

  1. In a mixing bowl add the avocado, lime juice, jalapeno, garlic and salt.
  2. Mix well with a potato masher or fork.
  3. Taste to adjust spice and seasonings as needed.
  4. Add the chopped papaya, mango, pineapple and green onions to the bowl and gently mix together.
  5. Transfer the tropical guacamole to a serving bowl and enjoy!

Serving Suggestions:

Serve the guacamole up with classic tortilla chips or change it up with pita chips, veggies or crackers.

Give the recipe a fun twist by serving it in a hollowed-out pineapple or papaya. It’ll give tropical guacamole a whole new vibe! Top with fresh cilantro and bon appetite!
