Learn About Your

Golden Nuggets & Blood Oranges

Your Golden Nugget and Blood Orange Experience will arrive ripe and ready to eat! You can tell your citrus is ripe usually by its fragrance and warmer (orange or red-orange) hue. The fruit will feel slightly more dense in your hand than in an unripe state.

Golden Nuggets and Blood Oranges are a delightfully refreshing snack out of hand. You can enjoy both your citrus atop a salad, or in a marinade, dessert or cocktail!

Golden Nuggets have a bumpy rind that makes them easy to peel and enjoy. Blood Oranges can be sliced or peeled into wedges. They also make delicious fresh juice as well.

It is not recommended to eat citrus skin. Blood Oranges may contain seeds. Remove before eating.

Your citrus can be stored on the counter at room temperature for usually a few days, however this method speeds up the ripening. With citrus this special, we recommend storing them loose in the refrigerator crisper drawer away from apples to keep them fresher, for longer. If you juice your citrus, we recommend only storing for 1-2 days.

It is not recommended to freeze whole citrus fruits. However you can:

  • Lay sections of fruit on a baking sheet lined with wax paper and flash freeze in the freezer for about an hour. Once frozen, store the sections in a freezer-safe, airtight container
  • Put the peels in a resealable bag and freeze.
  • Freeze the juice or zest in ice cube trays.
