Wimal and his wife, Elita, are about to pick their winter harvest of Sapodilla. This unique, tropical fruit is shaped like an egg with a rough, brown skin when ripe. Sapodilla will taste like a combination of malty-caramel, pear, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Sapodilla is best enjoyed fresh by the spoonful or slice. Its flesh can be slightly grainy.
All produce is shipped direct from Serendib Farms using FedEx two-day shipping to guarantee freshness. Information on how to use, store and recipe ideas can be found by clicking here.
The Sapodilla is grown and shipped directly from Redlands, Florida.
Your order is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If you are not 100% satisfied, please contact us within seven (7) days of the delivery and we will make it right.

Sapodilla is best enjoyed fresh out of hand by spooning out the flesh. Your box will be shipped unripe and may begin to ripen during transit. These fruit have a short ripening window and will emit a sweet fragrance when ripe. To tell if they are ready to eat, look to see if they are brown and soft to the touch when you apply gentle pressure with your thumb. They will be as soft as a ripe avocado. Sapodilla should be consumed quickly after ripening as they tend to lose their flavor after refrigeration. The skin may get darker as it ripens and will become patchy in color. This is a normal part of the ripening process. They will perish quickly and should be consumed immediately after ripening. Sapodilla will taste like a combination of malty-caramel, pear, brown sugar, and cinnamon. You can also enjoy their unique flavor in smoothies, salads, jams, or dessert.

FruitStand is a platform that connects buyers (you) to sellers (farms) to decentralize direct access to fresh fruits and vegetables. We are not a store, do not take position of any produce nor grow anything ourselves. Similar to Etsy for homemade goods, FruitStand is merely a bridge between you and small farms offering unique harvest experiences and the story behind each piece of produce on the site through flash sales and/or subscription boxes year round.
Our goal is to bring the farmer’s market experience online and right to your door.
