Yuzu is a Japanese specialty citrus, similar to lemon, but more delicate in flavor. Due to being illegal to import from their native Japan, this fruit is rare and difficult to find.

For the Chef’s Box, $20 of every purchase goes to Mud Creek Ranch. $3.76 is used for recycled packaging material. $1.15 is used for included educational inserts. $1.9 is used to cover our shipping subsidy. $6.50 goes towards our marketing expense for this offer. FruitStand’s profit for this offer is $6.64, which is used to cover operation expenses. Learn more about where your money goes and how it compares.

About The Harvest

A Japanese gastronomist once said, “the yuzu fragrance is entirely its own. It resembles no citrus familiar to the West.” Be sure not to judge these rustic fruits by their rough skin and (tons of) seeds, the delicate, acidic and floral flavor hidden in the rind and sparse pulp is a rare culinary must-have. Their penetrating aromatic notes make them a delicious addition to sauces (Yuzu is the main ingredient in Ponzu sauce), chili pastes and butters used for cooking savory foods. They can also be used for baked goods and as sour mixer in cocktails. Try them in anything needing that extra pop of zest.

All produce is shipped direct from Mud Creek Ranch using FedEx two-day shipping to guarantee freshness. Information on how to use, store and recipe ideas can be found by clicking here.

Our Mission

To reimagine the future of food by sharing the complete story behind the food we eat.

As co-inhabitants of this wonderful planet, we must make better, more educated choices for ourselves, our communities and our global home.
About FruitStand

FruitStand is a platform that connects buyers (you) to sellers (farms) to decentralize direct access to fresh fruits and vegetables. We are not a store, do not take position of any produce nor grow anything ourselves. Similar to Etsy for homemade goods, FruitStand is merely a bridge between you and small farms offering unique harvest experiences and the story behind each piece of produce on the site through flash sales and/or subscription boxes year round.

Our goal is to bring the farmer’s market experience online and right to your door.
