Longan are ready to eat when they are firm and free from bruises and blemishes. A ripe longan will have a strong tan color.
Uneaten longan (if there are any leftover) can be safely stored in the refrigerator for 5-7 days. Store the longan in a plastic bag (try to remove the air as much as possible) in the refrigerator. If they turn slightly browner, that’s ok. As long as they aren’t bruised or too soft they should still be good to eat.
It’s fun trying new things.
We couldn't agree more with you on that, Lynn! :)
Okay, so I love love longan, but cannot give this a 5 star. Unfortunately there was an exceptionally high level of waste from this experience. I'm not sure if they were picked too ripe, or it's just too much middle of the summer extra hot transit weather. Either way we only got to enjoy a fraction of these gems (the ones that were in good condition were fantastic and flavorful), so it was painful having to toss any! I reached out to Jenny who made everything right - this company does stand behind their products. I'd totally consider giving this another shot in the future.
They are yummy but a few were not that favorable but that is with all fruit. I think it is really an acquired taste
These were very sweet and delicious. Pairs well in your favorite adult beverage
I froze mine so that I can have a dozen or so at a time thaw out as I sit in outside. It's really refreshing!
Great, my son also loved them
A future where more people are motivated to discover and enjoy growers and their craft.
