Important Information About
Mauritius Lychee
Your Mauritius Lychee will arrive ripe and ready to consume. They are best eaten fresh. The lush, aromatic scent and the red color of the lychee will indicate they are ready to eat. The red skin will also peel off easily when the fruit is ripe. Due to the way in which lychee is grown and harvested, there may be some individual pieces that are not fully red. As long as you are able to peel the fruit and most of the skin is red, your fruit is ready to be enjoyed! Individual lychee fruit grow in small clusters on branches and as a result, there may be some small branches in your shipment. Any branches present will be minimal and will not account for a significant amount of the overall weight.
WARNING:
THERE IS A PIT INSIDE EACH PIECE. Be sure to remove the pit before sharing with small children, as the pit is a choking hazard. DO NOT CONSUME the hard, internal seed/pit or the outer skin as it can make you sick. Consume only the white flesh of the fruit.
There is no need to wash lychee. Gently peel the skin with your fingers—it should come off easily when the fruit is ripe. Simply bite into the delicious, white, somewhat translucent flesh around the seed. If there are any browning or spotty patches, cut or eat around them. Some slight browning or spotting is normal and this later-stage ripeness indicator can occur in transit. You can also score the flesh along one side to reveal the seed, use your finger and thumb to pinch slightly and dig under the stone to remove it. Don’t mind the slightly brown membrane that occasionally remains on the flesh from the pit, it is edible and the fruit is too delicate to remove this layer. Lychee is a refreshing snack on its own, but can also be pitted and added to fruit salads, sauces, desserts and beverages.

For optimal quality, store unpeeled lychee in the refrigerator for no more than three days in an airtight container or plastic bag until ready to consume.

Super Sweet, Fragrant, and Delicious
These were wonderful to eat — juicy and almost candy-like. I would definitely get these again. My only note of caution is that they arrive VERY ripe (not spoiled at all though), so we needed to eat them quickly over a two-day period.

Sweet and Extremely Juicy
I love lychee and definitely know a good one from the average. The lychee I received is fresh and juicy and I know it's without preservative on the skin of the fruits, they do oxidize quickly but it doesn't affect the flesh within. They make a great snack after meals! Both my kids love the sweet lychee and can't wait for the next season.

Fresh and delicious
The lychee was fresh, ripe and sweet. It arrived well, I just think there should be a little more "cushioning" protecting the fruit. I do appreciate the use of more environmentally friendly materials on the packaging. Would certainly order again!
