Tasting Notes
Ice Cream Beans: Eaten raw out of the pod, this sweet, cottony fruit tastes like vanilla ice cream wrapped like cotton candy around its dark purple-black seeds.
Fuyu Persimmons: Tropically sweet and crisp like a pepper, delicious sliced or baked in an autumnal dessert.
Caviar Limes: cut these in half and squeeze out the citrusy pearls!
Passion Fruit: juicy balance of sweet and tart fruit with flat, crunchy seeds you can swallow whole or chew.
Makrut Limes: exceptionally fragrant limes used in Southeast Asian cuisine
Eureka Lemons: Unlike Meijer lemons (which are a cross between lemons and mandarins), these are true lemons with tart, bright flavor
About The Harvest
Get a taste of the incredible tropical fruits ripening on Good Land Organic’s trees in November. The centerpiece of this year’s Organic Tropical Fruit Taster is the ice cream bean, also known as “guaba” in South America where it originates from. This legume is related to peanuts, green beans, and licorice, but grows on a huge tree unlike many of its botanical cousins. Share this hard-to-find dessert fruit with a friend and you’ll still have Fuyu persimmons to snack on or bake with, plus caviar limes to make a fancy cocktail or add to guacamole for a pop of lime. On top of that, each box will come with a surprise fruit: cut open a delicious, tart passion fruit, cook your favorite Thai dish with makrut limes, or brighten up a salad dressing or marinade with fresh Eureka lemons.

I really enjoyed it. One thing that I wish was done would be to put on a sheet about each fruit. It was so long between ordering and actually getting the order that I didn’t remember what some of the fruits were. Fir instance the long green one. Don’t know what it is and I can’t find anything about it
