Important Information About
Pineapple Margarita & Guacamole Experience

Avocados
Your avocados may arrive ripe and ready to eat. As needed, allow them to ripen on the counter at room temperature, as refrigeration will stop the ripening process.
Firmness is the best indicator of ripeness. With your hand, apply a gentle pressure to the avocado. If it is hard, it is not ripe. Check avocados daily. Once the avocado yields easily to gentle pressure, it is ready to be enjoyed.
Pineapple
We’ll let you in on a little secret about your Apeel pineapples: even though they might look green on the outside, they’re juicy, sweet, and ready to eat! What’s more, just like an orange, they won’t get sweeter or riper the longer you let them sit.
Limes
You can tell your limes are ripe usually by their fragrance and vibrant green hue. Their skin will be taut and the fruit will feel slightly heavier in your hand than in an unripe state.
Avocados
Ripe avocados will keep for two to three days in the refrigerator. When ready to eat, simply cut around the pit and pull your avocado apart to remove it. Scoop out the creamy flesh into a bowl to enjoy.
Pineapple
Enjoy upon arrival or cut the pineapple into slices or chunks to store in the refrigerator and enjoy as desired. Here’s how to properly cut your pineapple:
Cut off the crown.
- Cut off the bottom.
- Slice off around the sides.
- Cut the pineapple in half vertically in half.
- Cut each half into smaller slices or spear, removing the core.
Limes
Cut limes in half or into wedges to be used to juice or garnish your recipes.

Avocados
Store fruit on the counter at room temperature for up to 2-3 days, as refrigeration will stop their ripening. Check avocados daily. Ripe avocados will keep for two to three days in the refrigerator.
For optimal quality, store all fruit in the refrigerator for up to a week. If peeled, store in an airtight container or plastic bag until ready to consume.
Pineapple
This pineapple is best eaten within a few days, but you can also store it whole in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Cut pineapple will keep in the refrigerator for up to a week but it's best to eat right away.
Or, put cut pineapple chunks into airtight containers or freezer bags then store in the freezer for up to 6 months.
Limes
Your limes can be stored on the counter at room temperature for usually a few days, however this method speeds up the ripening. We recommend storing them loose in the refrigerator crisper drawer to keep them fresh.
Roselle Hibiscus Sea Salt
Store in a cool dry place.
Passionfruit Orange Guava Culinary Syrup
Store in the refrigerator after opening.

About The Harvest
Apeel works with nature to reduce food waste and create abundance for all, by using materials that exist in the peels, seeds and pulp of all fruits and vegetables to create a protective extra peel that seals moisture in and keeps oxygen out. This makes produce stay fresh, nutritious and delicious for longer—which means less food going to waste throughout the supply chain—from farm, to store, to your home. This is an issue that the team at Apeel knew they had to solve. Less waste at home, means less waste for the planet and a more abundant future for us all.

Your avocados may arrive ripe and ready to eat. As needed, allow them to ripen on the counter at room temperature, as refrigeration will stop the ripening process. Your pineapple may arrive ripe and ready to eat as well, however if it is still darker green you should allow it to rest on the countertop until slightly yellow around the ‘eyes’. As the color turns to all yellow or gold, it is starting to over-ripen and needs to be consumed or frozen quickly. You can tell your limes are ripe usually by their fragrance and vibrant green hue. Enjoy all these ingredients in Chef Gida’s Slushie Pineapple Margarita with Hawaiian Hibiscus Salt Recipe and her Guacamole Recipe, crafted with love in her local Kaua’i kitchen.

I recommend this product
Pineapple margaritas guacamole
The box cam badly damaged and the fruit inside was also damaged but still edible. The pineapple (of which I have only had two out of four) was not very sweet or ripe. According to the website the pineapple will not ripen any further one it is picked. The avocados were rock hard so I have not tried them yet. Overall I am not that happy.

Great
The box came just in time for a long three day weekend holiday. I made the margarita from a recipe card in the box - frozen pineapples, the guava syrup (in the box), and limes (in the box). It was a really good and refreshing take on margarita’s!
