Important Information About
Sequoia Cherry
Sequoia cherries are deep-red and purple with variegated burgundy and white flesh. They will be plump and their skin will be taut when ripe. Your cherries should arrive ripe, juicy and ready to eat. Consume within a few days of arrival. Always keep stems intact until ready to eat.
When ready to eat (and not before!), rinse your cherries in cold water. Bring your cherries to room temperature as they are more delicious this way for eating fresh out of hand. WARNING: These cherries have PITS! Discard stems and remove the pits as you eat.
Their sweetness and sturdy texture also make them good for baking and preserves. They can also enhance savory meat dishes and salads or be added to mild cheeses like burrata and mascarpone. Pair them with dark chocolate and berries for a refreshing sweet dessert.

About The Harvest
The Murray Family’s farming heritage is five generations deep, marked by a legacy of conservation practices, land stewardship and innovative agriculture. In the 1980s, Steven Sr. and Vickie Murray traded their Bakersfield home for a 20-acre table grape farm, nestled in the mountains of the San Joaquin Valley.
In the late 1980s, the Murray’s began experimenting with cherry tree cultivation and it took six whole years to harvest their first test cherries. These days, Steven and Vickie share management responsibilities of the farm with their son Steven Jr., a rare fruit connoisseur, whose passion for unique crops has contributed to the diverse array of produce offerings that Murray Family Farms boasts: over 3,000 varieties of fruiting plants and over 600 unique species.

Amazing Cherry
I love cherries.. and look forward to cherry season every year. The ability to get these early was a fantastic treat! They are a little different than the ones in the store.. for starters they don't look as "perfect". They are more of a sweet/tart balance with a little more complexity than your typical red cherry in the store (which ranges from tasteless to just sweet). I'd highly recommend these!

Cherry Awesomeness!
Plump, juicy cherries with that right off the tree taste. Sweet with just a hint of tartness. Did you ask about pie? Hah, they didn't last long enought to even think about pie- all consumed fresh. Next time I will order more.
