Meet The Farm
Iron Ox
A sustainable farm run by a young, creative and passionate team of farmers and chefs.
Iron Ox Farm is located in South Hamilton, Massachusetts, an hour north of Boston. Run by Chef Stacey Apple and experienced farmer, electrician and mechanic (seriously) Alex Cecchinelli, Iron Ox focuses on enriching the environment through a focus on soil health.
While not certified organic, Iron Ox constantly strives to go beyond organic standards. They absolutely never use synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides. Neither do they use GMO seeds while striving to incorporate heirloom and open-pollinated seeds into their wide range of crops whenever possible. Above these basic organic standards, their mission is to grow holistically, meaning they grow for themselves and for the earth.
Experience
Take your love of salsa to the next level.
Did you know that salsa is the #2 condiment in the US? The nearly unlimited possibilities ofcombining fresh tomatoes or tomatillos, garlic and just the right amount of spice make it more popular than mustard...even ketchup! The Super Verde Jedi Salsa (with spectacular husk cherries) Experience direct from Iron Ox Farm in Hamilton, MA may just push salsa to the number one spot.
Iron Ox is offering a combination of Super Verde Tomatillos, Husk Cherries, Fresh Garlic & Jedi Jalapeños. The green, plumb tomatillos add a citrusy tartness, which is perfectly balanced with the husk cherries and jedi jalapeño spice. When combined—to your liking and imagination—with fresh garlic, you may never go back to “red” salsa again.
Tasting Notes
Super Verde Tomatillos have a distinct flavor that is fresh, tart and almost citrusy.
Husk Cherries are sweet, yet mild in flavor and about the size of a large blueberry.
Jedi Jalapeños are considered large, mild peppers.
About The Harvest
What does your salsa say about you? Are you the creative one who goes off-book, doesn’t measure and simply combines for culinary delight? Are you the scientist, carefully following the recipe, measuring each ingredient and precisely slicing into the plush green skin of the tomatillos to craft the perfect salsa?
Regardless, this experience has you covered. The Super Verde Tomatillo is a green member of the nightshade family. While it looks like an unripe tomato, they are extremely flavorful with a blend of tart and fruit. The Husk Cherry is a small, pale orange fruit wrapped in a crinkly husk. They are extremely versatile in recipes due to their sweet and tart balance. The Jedi Jalapeño is a mildly spicy pepper with only 4,000 Scovilles of heat (the hottest, the Carolina Reaper, is 2,200,000 Scovilles). Iron Ox is rounding outthis gourmet salsa experience with a fresh head of homegrown garlic—a necessity to elevate your salsa game.
Everything in this experience is picked fresh, prepared and shipped directly to your door from Iron Ox Farm in Massachusetts.

Husk cherries
Husk cherries were cool and new. Everything else was predictable and easily obtained. The recipes were key to this experience. (Gang).
